Rhode Island Rental Agreement Forms and Landlord Resources
Even though Rhode Island is the smallest state in the US (only 1,214 sq. miles), it still has some very strict laws for landlords and property managers to follow regarding residential rentals. For example, Rhode Island landlords cannot require their tenants be responsible for the maintenance of smoke detectors or pest control and it is the only state in the US with specific laws about renting to people over the age of 65.
Rhode Island landlords and property managers should have no worries when relying on our lease agreements and other resources. Our lease agreements include all of the above information as well as other state-specific laws regulating landlord-tenant affairs. Beyond the lease agreement and the myriad forms, landlords can post their tenant or residential property related questions in our forum to be answered by other landlords, property managers and attorneys. If an attorney is ever needed for a face-to-face or telephone consultation, we have a Rhode Island attorney directory.
It’s next to impossible to manage a rental property without the help of a contractor or two. So for those times when you are in need of contractors, we have a list of contractors licensed in the state of Rhode Island. Rhode Island contractors can be accessed by clicking on the resources tab.
If you need more hands on training and education from a local expert, you can access the Rhode Island real estate investors club from our forums page, or if you desire a more relaxed, slower paced learning environment, peruse our articles section also found under the resources tab. We have topics covering everything from how to select the right tenant to how to calculate ROI.
When you have questions about the resources and tools we provide, you can click the chat icon in the upper right hand corner for assistance. Also, did you know we have printing instructions if you ever run into problems printing our documents? Just click help at the top menu for printing instructions.
