Create Texas Lease

Texas has a new statute requiring Landlords to disclose flood risks that applies to all Lease Agreements entered into on January 1, 2022, or later. It does not impact Lease Agreements signed prior to January 1, 2022.

The statute requires that Landlords disclose:

  1. If the rental property is in a 100-year flood plain, as defined by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
  2. If the property has flooded within the past 5 years.

Our Texas Flood Disclosure:

  • Discloses whether or not the property is located in a 100-year floodplain and whether or not it has flooded in the past five years.
  • Advises Tenants that renter’s insurance generally does not cover flood damages.
  • Advises Tenants to obtain insurance that will cover flood damage.
  • Alerts Tenants of FEMA’s online resource to research flood risks by address.
  • Provides Tenants with the Texas Property Code’s definition of flooding.

Plus, it can be created and customized in less than 5 minutes!
