Connecticut Lease Requirements: Bed Bug Disclosure
Connecticut General Statute § 47a-7a requires that Landlords disclose the status of bed bug infestations in the rental unit and any contiguous units owned, leased, or subleased by the Landlord before entering into a Lease Agreement.
Specifically, the Landlord must disclose:
- Whether the rental unit is currently infested with bed bugs;
- Whether any contiguous units owned, leased, or subleased by the Landlord are infested with bed bugs; and
- The Tenant’s right to request the last date the property was inspected for bed bugs.
Connecticut Landlords should use this Bed Bug Disclosure as an addendum to their Connecticut Lease Agreement.
