Explaining the Saskatchewan Notice to Vacate (Employee) Form

This notice is unique in that it is not used for tenants and landlords that have only a lease agreement. This notice is used when the landlord provides an employee with tenancy as part of their work and rental agreement. This form is used in the case when the tenancy agreement is made for the duration of employment. This means that the landlord can end the tenancy of the person they no longer employ. The employment in a specific role may have ended or employment, in general, has finished. In either case, this form applies.

This form can only be used when employment has ended and the landlord wishes to regain possession of the property.

Going Through The Process

Using this notice is straightforward and clear when both parties involved are looking to come to a peaceful solution. The landlord needs to fill out both personal and property details on the form and then provide it to the tenant.

The form will include the date the notice is delivered as well as the date the tenant is expected to have left the property. If the tenant has not vacated the property or would like to dispute the claim then the landlord must either proceed with an eviction or provide the tenant with the opportunity for their reasons for a dispute to be heard.

Possible Disputes

If the tenant does wish to dispute the claim to terminate tenancy then the tenant needs to sign the notice and return it to the landlord. Once the notice has been signed and returned, the landlord must request a hearing through the Office of Residential Tenancies. The dispute will be considered and a resolution will be found with the help of a third party.
