Landlord Question and Answer Forum
The HOA sent me an email, complaining about POSSIBLE drug activity at my rental. By coincidence we are making a business trip there in a couple of weeks. We told HOA that we would check into it. I would guess that if the tenant is raising pot in my rental, he will deny and dispose of all before my visit. Shouldn't the HOA be responsible for contacting the police if they suspect something? My renter has been fine with payments.

RE: HOA complaining about drugs
The catch word here is “Possible.” I would email the HOA back and ask them what created the suspicion and if they can send you proof (photos, etc). I would also inform them that tenants have rights and that there isn’t much you can do until there is evidence to their claim. -----Disclaimer: Since I’ve been answering a lot of questions, I thought I would make the following statement. I’m not affiliated with EZlandlord Forms. I’m just here (not sure how long) to help those that have questions. Having 40+ yrs with Rental Property and done well, it’s my way of “Pay it Forward (check out the movie).” However, it is up to you to become familiar with your State/Local laws. I always like to know if the suggestions I offer are helpful. Feel free to comment anytime. Thanks in Advance
