Hello, Is there a certain protocol to follow when extending a current lease out another year? I was just going to edit my existing lease and change the date. Is this all that needs to be done? Thanks much, Vanessa

This would depend on several factors such as whether you are increasing the rent; what kind of renewal clause the current lease has. If you are leaving everything the same, then you probably will be alright in just editing, but remember to have your tenant sign the new lease.
