Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I own a home that was purchased in "as is" condition. It has a 40 gal water heater located in a outside compartment that is only slightly larger than the water heater.
It has a secure door to access it from the outside. My question is, am I required by law to stap the water heater as an element of the habitual condition of the property?
I didn't install strapping system because there is no room around the heater to do so easily and it has little to no room to move in the case of an earthquake.
What are my rights and responsibilities as a landlord?
