Landlord Question and Answer Forum
At what point may I consider it abandonment? He pd rent, when "he felt like it". How long b4 I can pack his personal property & place all in storage & when am I legally allowed to dispose of the property? He has a pattern of leaving his property at other hms and returning---claiming he had moved out. Thank you.

RE: Adult son/no lease/left leaving property behind
When dealing with family it is more than legal issues. Depending on the state regulations, a landlord must first notify the tenant and give them a certain amount of days to remove personal property. If no reply is received and the property isnot removed, then I imagine you can do what you see fit with the property. Check with your state statutes for timing.
