Does the Michigan courts where I filed an eviction, notify the credit reporting agency's?

In my state, my understanding is that the evictions go into public record, but not credit history, unless you take additional steps. I don't know this for certain and I don't know the "additional steps".

I know in most states as soon as you go to the courts and set up the eviction application it automatically goes on your credit report.
