Landlord Question and Answer Forum
Well, I think it depends on the employer. We co-signed for a loan several years ago. Knowing that the borrower worked for a local municipality, I told the banker that I would like to have the loan payments deducted directly from the borrowers pay before they got the money in their hands. The lender said, "He who holds the gold makes the rules." If they don't like your rules, you don't have to co-sign the loan. I believe the same rule applies here. The employer is a large company that does direct debit for other things. So, I am going to run it up a flag pole and see if it flies! I will let you know how it goes.
