Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I delivered a 14 day notice to quit for non-payment on 3-7. My tenant left sometime in March, but their stuff (furniture, food, dishes, etc) is still there. They canceled their utilities and most of there clothes and valuables are gone. Can I remove their stuff?

RE: eviction
Dan, I think you have to write everything down and put in storage for I think it is 3 months and you have to flip the storage fee . After that you can sui your tenant for the storage fee, sounds fair huh.

RE: eviction
In agreement with Donald, that would be a feasible and legal solution. Check your state law to see how long they must have left their property on your property without pickup to be able to legally declare it abandoned. Since you may not get much by suing them for storage fee, if the property is abandoned you can sell whatever you can to recoup some of your costs for storage.
