Landlord Question and Answer Forum
My son has asked me to co-sign on a lease required by landlord. He is one of four students in an apartment. How do I request quarantees from other students in case of a default of rent payment? Can they sign a contract with me as well as landloard and what are my legal options?

RE: College students need Parent as co-signer for apt.lease
Is this landlord requiring the other students to have co-signors? Are you co-signing for everyone or just your son? Ask the landlord what happens to you if someone other than your son is late.

I was always of the opinion that it was ok to sign for your own child, but everyone else was a larger risk.
