Can a tenent remove bushes, trees and fences that they put on the rental property? Thanks!

In Massachusetts I was told they can if they purchased them as long as they make the property look like it did before they put this stuff in.

Some states would consider such items as permanent fixtures; therefore a tenant may not remove such things. This would also apply to such things as built in shelves, fencing and such. BUT: if a state is silent on such things and a lease is silent as well - it would be up to a judge. I would think at the LEAST, a tenant would have to completely bring the area of the rental property back to its original condition upon moving in.
