Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I gave my tenant a bad report because it was the truth and I am fearful because they may retaliate. Are there laws for this? The property managment company was remax in dallas, tx that told the tenants about the report.

RE: Prospect Landlord told Tenant about bad report
I was told if you tell the truth without fabication it is not slander ,and it cannot hurt you , now if it is not true and they were caused a hardship like loseing a job or a hardship then you could be. Slander is very hard to prove.

Always ask requesting party to send / fax you a letter requesting the information they want to verify on their letterhead. You never know who's on the other end of the phone.
