Landlord Question and Answer Forum
My daughter rented an apartment with a "friend" and both names are on the lease. Lease is up in June, 2010. Friend decided to move out on Dec. 6th thus breaking lease. What recourse does my daughter have to enforce lease and monthly rent payment? Also, if she takes person to court, does my daughter have to prove she has tried to move in someone else?

RE: Co-Tenant Broke Lease
The question is "were they equally responsible for full rent." If so, she is required to pay full amount. She has the right to take roommate to court for not paying their potion. Another question….did co-tenant give written notice to vacate? If not, co-tenant may be able to return to apt. Again, this depends on what the Terms are. Keep in touch.
