Landlord Question and Answer Forum
As the wife of a landlord, and one who has helped with administrative issues and communicating with our tenant and his co-signer, is it required that there exist a formal document stating I am his agent before I am allowed to perform any tasks regarding our rental property or to communicate with our tenant or his cosigner?
Thank you,
Karen

RE: Landlord's agent
Are you also the owner of the property? If so, then you probably do not have to send any formal notices. Indiana statutes to the best of my knowledge are silent on disclosure of landlord's agent. But it cannot hurt to do this just to cover yourself.
