Can a tenent stop paying on her 1 year lease because im doing a short sale with the bank, is there a law?tenent wants proof that I'm making my morgage payment.

RE: Doing a short sale and tenent won't pay rent.
Tenant has to abide by the contract that he signed no matter what happens to the property - Foreclosure, Short Sale, sale, anything else..... On the other hand, you also have to abide by the previous lease that the tenant signed, including the security deposit and other terms. Be sure to get copies of the lease from the previous buyer, as well as the tenants deposit because you are responsible for that now.
