Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I intended on running a credit check on the prospective tenant myself but am seeing there may be complications and possibly a new law protecting people from identity theft. Is it pretty easy to run a credit check as long as they sign the lease giving you permission?

RE: running a credit check
If you get the signature giving you premission to do so, then you may run the credit check. There are new rules about storing paperwork with applicants personal information.
