Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I have a tenant who's not paid for August and has been late every month since moving in December. I finally filed the papers for eviction after delaying due to the pain of finding new tenant while living out of state. However, my tenant filed a motion to stay just prior to lock-out and will now be 2 months late in a couple days. How do I fight this? Do I need to get an attorney. I cannot afford to keep rental with people living in my home for free. Help please!!!

RE: Motion to Stay
Why was the tenant filed this motion to stay? on what grounds? I understand you do not want to hire an attorney...but an attorney may be able to get this tenant out quicker and end up saving you time and money. Most attorneys have a free first time consult.
