Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I'm trying to clean out some files and wanted to know if anyone knows how long the law requires a landlord to hold onto old tenant leases?
Thank you!

RE: How long do I need to hold on to old tenant leases - In Maryland
If you have it digitally hold on to it for ever as they would take up basically no digital space and you can get an external hard drive. I try to always transfer everything digitally and keep it on file, like at least 15 years worth. I hop is helps, I may keep things a little too long but I think 8-10 years is common as in any tax or legal paperwork.
