Landlord Question and Answer Forum
How do I go about a yearly inspection on my rental homes other then the obvious looking for leaky toilets, forcets, checking heating system, and outlets. What are the big things to look for if you could provide a list that would be great. After the inspection would it pay to replace a dishwasher if broken or doors off hinges only to break again with the same tenets or should I wait until they move out and then repair rental for new tenets. Any and all information would be great. Thanks.

RE: Inspecting a rental
If the tenants are deliberately breaking the property I would evict them. As for the inspection, it is always good to have and inspection to help maintain the property and keep the tenants on track. Checking for the basics as you mentioned is the way to go as well as checking for any sign of pests or un-allowed pets, etc.
