Landlord Question and Answer Forum
My sister is renting and moved in her boyfriend without permission. Can we charge him more rent or do they split it or is this as the landlord's discretion?

RE: Charge for more people than rented to
If you have a lease and it limits the amount of occupants or specifies that there may be an additional charge for "extra people" moving in; then you may do so with notice according to the laws in your state. If you do not have a lease, you may increase the rent at any time giving the tenants proper notice according to your states law.
