Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I am leasing out my home in California. My tenants informed me that the air filter needs to be replaced (I believe they cost around $10). Am I responsible for purchasing these?

RE: Who is responsible for air filters in California?
Yes the landlord is responsible for the upkeep of the house or rental unit unless it is specifically stated in the lease what the tenant is responsible for. If you take care of your property things like the cooling and heating unit will last longer as well as help keep the property in good shape.
