Forum / Tenant Screening/Advertising / Rental applicant accused me of stealing his money.

I charged rental applicants $34.95 application fee. I did not rent to this particular applicant. I used that money to run the background check, and eviction history report. I just got a text from him saying, "Thanks for stealing my money." How should I respond to that? Thanks.
