Landlord Question and Answer Forum
Hello- We just purchased a multi family occupied rental property in Easton PA. One of our inherited tenant's lease is about to expire in February. Can we screen them before offering a renewal of lease? We don't know what the last owner did as tenant-screening process.

RE: New Owner, old tenants screening
Yes absolutely you can screen them it is even recommended. Because you are new owners and because you will be writing a new lease. If the tenant refuses do go forward with the end of the lease and terminating them through eviction.
