Forum / Tenant Screening/Advertising / Prospect tenant has two large dogs
They are rescued strays that are on the larger scale (50+ lbs). Historically, the property has been no pets. I opted to allow cats and small dogs to get more tenants to apply. The rental price of $1495 per month. There is also a $175 non-refundable pet fee and a pet rent of $20 per month per pet. In this situation, would you ask for a substantial pet deposit, another $1500. Totally refundable, provided the pets don't cause any damages. Please share your perspective.

I also add an additional pet deposit to just insure the property doesn't get damaged. I would make sure to comply with your property location laws. So i would look up your state website and you may find some really helpful information.
