Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I am looking at applicants criminal background - I see minor criminal activity...
but I don't see any dates of the offense...
I am in Texas...
Am I allowed to ask applicant for a timeline and description of past offense?

RE: Questions about info revealed in a background report
I am never straight forward like that. I usually will ask the applicant to verify with me that this criminal report is correct. Go over the information with them and provide them a copy. Then after that I will send them an acceptance or a denial with reasons why I accepted. Make sure to review the fair housing act when denying applicants.

RE: Questions about info revealed in a background report
Yes you are allowed to verify the details related to the crime. In my case the agents at Cloud Real Estate helped me a lot.
