Landlord Question and Answer Forum
Hello, I have processed a rental application from a proposed tenant and on 7/15 moved forward in sending him a lease agreement. On 7/18 he sent me a text message saying he had a few questions. I responded to him asking if we could discuss his questions the next morning. He text me back saying he was busy and would email me his questions. 5 days have gone by without hearing from him. At this point no lease has been signed, and I have no security deposit holding the property. I have other interested parties....in the State of South Dakota, can I move on since I have nothing signed and no deposit in the bank or is their a period of time I must wait? Thank you

RE: Lease Agreement
I would definitely move forward. Time is money and if they are not interested they are wasting your time and your money. I would politely email them and say that they are running out of time with the property, that you have other interested applicants and can no longer wait for them to get back to you. Give them a time limit to respond or you will move on to looking. good luck.
