I have a somewhat unique question. I own and live in a Duplex. I am actively looking for a roommate. I want to have them apply and sign a lease just like any other tenant that I would screen and lease the unit to. Am I able to discriminate based on age if I'm looking for a roommate who will be signing a lease?

Hey, I actually have encountered this situation. I don't believe that it is discriminating to choose a roommate based on age. When choosing a roommate, you want it to be someone you get along with. I believe that even the fair housing act does not apply to roommates.
