Landlord Question and Answer Forum
Is it legal/ethical to ask for an additional security deposit or higher rent for an applicant whose credit history doesn't quite give you a warm and fuzzy?

RE: Additional Requirements for Questionable Applicants
In many states there is no limit on what you can charge for rent, however the security deposit usually is regulated to not more that one months rent or a fair amount. You really can set your own price but you may want to make sure you are not out pricing your own rental.
