Home located in North Carolina. My tenant has lived in residence since 2009. Calls says she has a bug problem. Immediately send a exterminator to the property (single family home). Bed bugs and fleas. She says she cannot figure out why she has felas and no dog. Right. Currently have a company to take care of the problem(s). Now my question is can I legally charge her for the cleanup? The costs to me is $1500 dollars. I did not create the problem, she did. Thanks.

ooo thats a tough one. it's the landlord saying one thing and the tenant another. not sure if you can charge for that. i think you would need to consult an attorney, however that would cost even more money.

CA residence family moves in 15 days ago & bed bugs have been confirmed
In the house. It appears as if bed bugs were there when the previous tenants lived there. Is there any way to recoup extraction costs from previous tenants or is it a landlord cost?
