Landlord Question and Answer Forum
Hi,
I was thinking of renting to a girl going to school in San Diego County, CA. I ran a credit and background check and she is in collections with 5 different companies. She told me that her father was going to co-sign. He apparently has the income and supposedly a good record. He lives out of town but in a different county. I see it as a greater risk even with a larger security deposit because I would have to purse him regarding a collection on rental default. If he signs the agreement in his county wouldn't I have to pursue him in collections in that county?
If anyone has words of wisdom, please let me know.
Thank you,
Rose
