Landlord Question and Answer Forum
Can a landlord charge pet deposit for companion dogs prescribed by a doctor? This is not a service animal or dog but is a companion or emotional support dog. I am here in Idaho.

RE: Can a landlord charge pet deposit for companion dogs?
My understanding is that while landlords cannot always prohibit tenants from having pets, if they have a legal right to them (for example service dogs), they can still charge a pet fee or deposit.

A fee may be applied in the case of there being risk of damage to the property
