I just had a tenant pass away, and my lease doesn't have any information on his/or my rights. I'm just not sure what our rights are or how to handle this? I live in NC

Check with the local authorities first. The same thing happened to me in Milw. I had to post in the newspaper "notice to relatives". wait thirty days an the belongs became mine. I then held an estate sale and donated what was left for the tax deduction.
