Landlord Question and Answer Forum
Hi, we paid an attorney to evict a non paying tenant and the attorney tells us that we need to pay for the cost of a moving company to move his stuff to storage. Then, if he doesn't pay the city for storage, they sell his stuff. We don't get reimbursed. We found in state paperwork that it is up to the tenant to pay for the move, not us. Can anyone please help me and clarify the law. This guy has so much junk all over the property that it will cost us thousands of dollars to have it moved. Can someone give me some advice or refer me to an attorney that would know something? This is very frustrating.
