Forum / State Landlord Tenant Law / Lease Renewal Agreement

Our tenant did not sign the lease renewal agreement, however the agreement states that should the tenant not respond, the lease will continue automatically. They now are claiming this is not enforceable in IL and are refusing to pay the rent after the 30 days notice they have given. The lease would expire June 30, 2018.
