Landlord Question and Answer Forum
AirBnb member requested to rent a room in my private residence for her 17-year-old brother for a two-week period while he attends airplane pilot school nearby. I am trying to wrap my head around this scenario and see what my threats are and what I can do to protect myself for any potential lawsuits/problems, etc? Any help would be much appreciated. I live in MA.

RE: AirBNB member requested to rent a room for a 17 year old
This is strange because usually children do not rent apartments. I would really do some research on this topic. I know you will find someone who has experienced this. It sounds like an exchange student type of situation.

Anastasia......check with your state law. I don;t believe a 17 yr old can be held responsible for any contract. Consider not accepting offer.
