Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I am renting to a Salon Owner who rents her "booth" space to independent beauticians. Is this considered a violation of the NO Subletting rule and is it even considered subletting. I would like to allow her to rent her "booths" out and need to know how to incorporate that into the renewal lease that I am preparing.
Thank you for your suggestions.

RE: Subletting
In most salons it is not even legal to rent the space like that they may be in violation there. However if they are renting your space and are the salon owner, this business does not necessarily rent their chairs but they hire employees that make commission. Meaning if they do a $300 hair style, treatment, etc. the stylist may make 40-50% of that. This is not considered rent.
