Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I've had a tenant contact me about health issues and what happens to her security deposit and rent upon her death? I've found some information but was wondering if anyone had anything that would also be helpful

RE: Maryland Law on Tenants Death
Everything even the responsibility of the lease usually passes on to surviving family or next of kin. This includes the security. If they do pass it is in the landlords best interest to get a new paying tenant in there asap and to work with the relatives of the departed to end or take over the lease.
