Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I live in Texas and caught my tenants moving out last Sunday, two months before their signed lease was up. They are two months behind on rent so I gave them a three day notice to vacate on Monday. I have been checking on the house since Friday morning, and their dogs have been locked inside ever since. I have called animal control, so they left a notice on the door stating they would be fined if they were not removed. As of now, Saturday afternoon, the note is gone, and the dogs are still locked inside with no air conditioner. It is 104 degrees outside so this is turning into an animal welfare situation. Animal control is being very difficult and keeps telling me they want to give them more time before they can take them. Anyone have any advice?

RE: Tenants moved out and left dogs inside!
Are you able to go in the unit and bring them to an SPCA?
