Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I have a New Jersey tenant that did not pick up "Notice to Cease" for non-payment of rent that I mailed certified via US Postal Service. How do I proceed to evict? Do I send Notice to Quit?

RE: NJ TENANT IGNORES NOTICE TO CEASE FOR NON-PAYMENT OF RENT
A “Notice to Cease” serves as a warning notice; this notice tells the tenant to stop the wrongfull conduct. If
the tenant does not comply with the “Notice to Cease,” a “Notice to Quit” may be served on the tenant. After giving a Notice to Quit, the landlord may file suit for an eviction.

Thank you. Tenant never picked notice up from Post Office. How do I prove it was sent?
