Can I sue my evicted tenant for loss of rent due to damages that made the property inhabitable for a month? After the tenant vacated the property the damages exceeded the security and the tenant who I had lined up to move in, could not due to the etxensive damages.

It depends on how well you can persuade the judge that you suffered actual financial damages because of the ex-tenants' actions. If you have strong documentation and feel confident that you can handle it without hiring an attorney, then I say go for it.
