Landlord Question and Answer Forum
Can I evict my tenants if I need to move back into my house? They are not paying rent and I can't afford to stay where I am and pay the mortgage on my home when I am not receiving rent.

RE: COVID Evictions - California
Are they month to month? If so you should be able to if your local court house is open. You would need to give 30/60 days notice of non-renewal of the lease. So you can move in, if they don't leave by the date given then you can evict as a holdover tenant, this is not evicting for non-payment this is evicting for not leaving. You may have to do other weird CA stuff like pay for their relocation.
