Landlord Question and Answer Forum
Once our previous tenants moved out, we went to inspect the property and found that there had been a roof leak that they were clearly aware of (they placed a bucket in the attic to catch the water). The leak caused damage to the bathroom. They NEVER said a word to us about the issue. Every month we asked In the signed lease, it clearly states that the tenants must promptly notify us of any need for repairs or the cost with fall back on the tenants.
How do we go about trying to get the $ from them? Is it even worth it?

RE: Damages
Did you all ready return the deposit? Have the repairs done send them a copy of the bills along with a demand letter. Maybe they will just pay it. If they don't pay it, then you can file in small claims court.

RE: Damages
Don't return the full deposit. Do the repairs and then return the remaining amount this is the best thing you can do!
