Landlord Question and Answer Forum
Hello- Question. My tenant had a move out date of 8/9/19 but I gave them an extra week since I was late sending the non-renewal letter; the new date would have been 8/16/19. In the letter I sent, instead of putting 8/16/19, I put 9/16/19. She is now using that date as her move out. Keep in mind that she paid the pro-rated amount for August so she was well aware that she was to move out in August and not September. I hope this makes sense. Do I have a leg to stand on?

RE: Gave incorrect move out date for tenant
Your best course (as it's the 19th already) is to charge her for the August rent in full and keep the pro-rated already received for Sept rent.
