Forum / Move-Out & Eviction / WA state...how long do I have to give my tenant for paying for damages?
My tenant has caused well over $5000 in damages. We are keeping their deposit, but they will owe several thousand above that. How long do I legally have to give them to pay this additional money? I want it back ASAP! Thank you

RE: WA state...how long do I have to give my tenant for paying for damages?
Hello, Varies by state but typically in 60 days the deposit needs to be returned or what's left with a bill explaining what's been taken out. Anything beyond the desposit amount would most likely require court action if the vacating tenant refuses to pay upon demand. Good Luck.
