Landlord Question and Answer Forum
We have a tenant who had been terrific and rented on a two year agreement, then a one year extension, then thought about moving, then buying our unit but now is leaving to buy another house. He was told by an attorney in North Carolina that our agreements have defaulted and become month to month and he wants to offer 10 days or two weeks notice. Does the one year extension keep rolling over or is he right its now a month to Month? This home is in North Carolina?
Thanks

RE: Tenant on a contract Extension was told by an attorney we are month to month
even on a month to month 30 days should be the minimum notice. I put 60 days in my leases.

Actually my lease says 60 days notice or the lease renews for another term. the term is stated as a year.
