Landlord Question and Answer Forum
My tenants gave a 60 day notice that they were moving out. They decided they weren't going to stay the whole month of may and felt that they should only pay for the time they are their. They hadn't signed a new lease agreement. Are they still obligated to pay for the whole month?

RE: 60 day notice to move
They are responsible for the rent for the notice term and while they were staying. They gave sufficient notice and at the right time and did not sign a new lease so from my understanding they are only responsible for the last 60 days of notice. so two months, depending when they gave the notice.
