Forum / Move-Out & Eviction / Think illegal substance abouse on property
I have been told by neighbors of my rental home, that the tenants have been smoking pot in and outside of the home. My question is how to handle this, do I call the police (do they even come and check something like this out?), can I have the home inspected by a drug dog? I'm having late and half rent payments from them, one tenant is being sued for a car accident she is responsible for, and just found out she is driving without car insurance (illegal in TN). I will be sending an eviction letter soon anyway, but was wondering how to handle a situation like this.

RE: Think illegal substance abouse on property
If there is a clause in your lease about smoking on property, then you can just evict. If you are sending an eviction anyway there is no need to take any further steps.
