Landlord Question and Answer Forum
We have month to month tenants that told us that they were moving out at the end of December. They will actually be out on December 20th and want to do a walk through on that day. I know they will probably ask to prorate the remaining days. Do I have to give them back the money for the days they are not there? I'm in Colorado.

RE: Prorated Rent
They are legally responsible for rent for the full 30 days from the notice that they gave, if it is 30 days then you must prorate, if it is not then you do not have to. It is as simple as that.
